There are 3 different types of starch: powdered, liquid, and spray. Instructions are given below for each type of starch.
Get doily wet and squeeze out excess water.
Mix 2 Tablespoons of water and a teaspoon of starch in pan. Heat and stir until thickened.
Pour a small amount of starch into a bowl. |
| Place doily in starch and make sure starch covers all parts of the doily.
Squeeze the doily to remove excess starch. Place doily on bath towel and straighten it out.
If desired, you may place a small straight pin in each loop in the last row (to pull it out taut)
When the doily is all spread out let it dry and then remove from the towel. |

Place damp doily on bath towel and straighten it out.
If desired, you may place a small straight pin in each loop in the last row (to pull it out taut)
Spray doily with starch. The more starch allowed to saturate the doily, the stiffer the doily will be. When doily is evenly saturated with starch, let it dry and then remove from towel. |
Non-commercial use only. |
