These laundry bags have an opening at the top and bottom. This is so dirty clothing can be placed in through the top of the laundry bag and then removed through the hole at the bottom of the bag without removing the bag from the hook or rod that is supporting it. The bottom opening is closed with a rope that is tied into a slip knot for easy opening.
The netting for these two laundry bags is identical. The different appearance of the bags is because one is hung between two rods and the other is hung from an oval, and one is full while the other is empty.
Mesh Stick: 3/4"
1. Make a beginning chain of 51 loops.
2. Put half of the loops (those on one side of the chain) onto a ring beginning with the last loop tied.
3. Form a circle and net 1 knot in each loop around.
4. Tie CK at end of round.
5. Repeat steps 3-4 until 54 knot rounds or 55 loop rounds are finished.
This type of laundry bag is made to hang permanently; therefore, the bottom of the bag is made to open and close so the clothes can drop out of the bag when it is time to empty it.
To fix the bottom of the laundry bag:
1. Cut a length of rope about a yard long.
2. Put the rope through the loops of the last round made and tie the rope into a circle, then pull it so the bottom loops are all bunched together. Tie the rope with a slip knot so it will untie easily, but so that it will not slip when the clothes push down on it.
To fix the top of the laundry bag:
There are several methods.1. Purchase a multi-rod towel rod made to hand on the door. Run one rod through some of the loops of the first round, leave some loops unattached, run a second rod through the same number of loops as are on the first rod, and leave some final loops unattached. (see picture above on the left)
2. Cut a length of rope at least a yard long. Put the rope through the loops of the first round made and tie the rope into a circle. Place bag through wooden, plastic, or metal hoop, folding top of bag around hoop and tie rope tight enough to hold the netting over the hoop. Hang hoop from hook or strap. (see picture above on the right)
3. Cut a length of rope at least a yard long. The first round of loops are not quite all joined together. There are two loops that are not attached to each other. Leaving a longish tail of rope, tie one end of the rope to one of those loops. Put the other end of the rope through the rest of the loops of that first round. Tie the end of the rope to the last loop, leaving a longish tail. Then tie the two tails into a circle. Hang the circle onto a hook or strap.
